I have spent 30 years trading in the
dry bulk shipping markets. During that time I have experienced the business from most angles having worked for shipowners, mining houses, traders and broking companies in London, Hong Kong, the USA and the Netherlands. The last 13 years have been spent in senior positions with responsibility for trading portfolios and desk and company performance
In the course of fixing well over a thousand ships and trading extensively in the freight derivatives market, I have experienced first hand most of the bumps in the road the shipping business can throw up. I understand the negotiations, the misunderstandings, the charter parties, laytime disputes, counter party defaults, speed and performance issues and operational problems. I seek to combine that practical experience with my training at the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators to resolve Maritime disputes quickly, economically and above all, fairly.
